LEGAL JUSTICE FOR ALL

The law firm in the heart of Oregon, serving all of Oregon.

Our commitment to justice extends to every corner of the state. We believe every client deserves our most thorough and unwavering advocacy. Your story is unique, and we treat your case with the profound importance it deserves, because helping you reclaim your life is why we are here.

This dedication to serving all of Oregon is reflected in how we practice, in how we pursue justice, and in how we show up for the people and communities who need it most.

When you choose High Desert Law, you're choosing a team that has been trusted by clients, recognized by peers, and deeply invested in this community. Lawyers who fight hard for their clients, and who fight just as hard to make the legal profession and the communities they serve better for everyone.

Everything we do flows from three core values. Here's what they look like in practice.

Your Injury Attorney

When someone is injured, their life gets thrown off course. Our job is to help them find their way back; and to make sure that when this is all over, they can leave this event in the past and move forward with confidence. At the heart of that commitment are three things we never lose sight of.

‍Your Health. The most important service we provide — above all else — is giving you the space and freedom to focus on healing. We handle the legal process so you don't have to. You take care of your health. We take care of everything else.

‍Your Value. The legal process for injury claims attempts to compensate you for changes in your life, for your pain and suffering; with a dollar amount. This never squares. Your health cannot be bought. There simply is no dollar value for that. A personal injury settlement is recognition of what happened to you, of how your life changed, and of the fact that someone else is responsible for that. Wanting justice does not make you the villain. Your case deserves to be taken seriously, and you should never have to apologize for that.

‍Your Success. The real win is your recovery and moving beyond this incident - whether that’s recovery from an injury or recovery over the loss or injury of a loved one. We bring you experienced legal advice and guide you through this process; so that when all is said and done, you can move forward and leave this event in the past.

Our commitment to our clients doesn't stop at the courtroom door, it extends to every corner of the community they go home to. Because we are not just a firm for the people who walk through our door. We are a firm for Oregon.

Oregon lawyer, Oregon values

Working toward justice means working toward justice for all.

We believe access to justice is a fundamental right. We also know the gap between that belief and the reality a lot of Oregonians face is wide. Personal injury lawyers have a duty to do something about that gap. Not someday, but now.

This means showing up for all of Oregon, including the communities, systems, and people that justice too often leaves behind.

High Desert Law has an extensive record of public service at both the state and local level, built on a three-part commitment to Access to Justice, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Lawyer Well-Being. These aren't separate causes — they're deeply connected. And if justice is our goal for our clients, then equitable access for all must be our cause.

When we fight for one person's recovery, we are investing in the health of the whole community they belong to.

That commitment means showing up across the state — in bar leadership, in rural libraries, in wildfire relief, in the policy conversations that enforce that justice is a right for all, not a privilege for few.

Our commitment to Access to Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and lawyer wellbeing is part of how we practice. We don't support these causes from a distance.

They're foundational to our work, and we're accountable to all of Oregon for doing it.

Here’s a partial record of that work outside of serving High Desert Law clients:
  • As 2024 OSB President, championed lawyer well-being as a cornerstone of professionalism, leading statewide initiatives and workshops on mindfulness, and contributing to the OSB's values and five-year strategic plan for ATJ, DEI and well-being.

  • Advocated for statewide court modernization, urging the legislature to fund critical safety, accessibility, and technology upgrades for courthouses across Oregon to ensure meaningful access to justice for all communities.

  • While serving on the  Oregon State Bar Board of Governors and the Oregon Law Foundation, helped establish a statewide Oregon Law Help Portal, a centralized resource combining information from the Oregon State Bar, the Oregon Judicial Department, and legal aid services to simplify how the public finds legal information and assistance.

  • Served as Chair and founding member to create the Deschutes County Access to Justice Committee - a bench/bar committee and the first of its kind in Oregon.

  • Through the Deschutes County Access to Justice Committee, created Lawyer in the Library — free weekly legal consultations open to the public, with on-demand interpreters.

  • Launched a pilot program bringing access to Oregon court documents to rural libraries across Deschutes County.

  • Helped establish the DEI Committee for the Deschutes County Bar Association; amended bylaws to embed DEI engagement as a standing director responsibility.

  • As part of the Oregon Law Foundation, Commissioned "Barriers to Justice," a statewide study of the civil legal needs of low-income Oregonians, conducted through the Oregon Law Foundation

  • Served as 2021 President of the Oregon Law Foundation, which distributes over $1.5M in annual grants supporting legal services, diversity in the profession, and public legal education

  • Served as Regional Director for OTLA Wildfire, providing free legal help to Oregon wildfire victims

  • As part of the Uniform Civil Jury Instructions Committee, revised Oregon's Uniform Civil Jury Instructions to include detailed guidance on unconscious bias, delivered to potential jurors at selection

Every item on that list represents real people who needed help finding their way through a system that wasn't built for them. People across Oregon; in cities, in small towns, in rural communities far from the nearest courthouse. That's who we work for. That's what it means to be the firm in the heart of Oregon, serving all of Oregon.

INJURY LAWYERS, COMMUNITY MEMBERS

We’re all in this together.

No law firm builds a stronger community on its own. Real change takes a village, and we are proud to stand alongside the organizations doing that work every day, here in Central Oregon and across the state. The partners we support reflect the same values we bring to every case: dignity, equity, access, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported.

  • Saving Grace — helping Central Oregon build lives free from violence
  • Legal Aid Services of Oregon — helping low-income Oregonians achieve justice
  • Campaign for Equal Justice — making equal access to justice a reality for all Oregonians
  • Central Oregon Mothers Against Drunk Drivers — family and friends working to keep our loved ones safe on Oregon roads
  • The Environmental Center — driving local change to protect our planet, her people, and the future our children will inherit
  • World Muse — amplifying the voices of local and global changemakers
  • Out Central Oregon — promoting inclusivity, visibility, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ people in Central Oregon
  • Oregon Women Lawyers — transforming the legal profession by pursuing equitable access and equity for women and underserved communities
  • She Stands Up — sparking meaningful conversation about the power of women's activism in the face of violence
  • The Source — a hub of community, culture, and connection in Central Oregon

These aren't just organizations we’ve written checks to. They are neighbors, advocates, and changemakers. Standing with them is an expression of everything we believe. Together, we are building something bigger than any one firm, any one case, or any one community. We are building Oregon.
